What To Look Out For in Gambling
Scams
It's not exactly a secret that since the advent of the
internet, gambling scams have grown. They vary in all shapes
and sizes. Here are some ways you can spot an online gambling
scam.
The scams tend to vary from online companies refusing to pay
out your winnings to rigging the game so you have absolutely no
chance of winning.
A popular one is the use of illegitimate bonuses. What these
companies do is they invite a lot of the people whom have
already been scammed from another company and tell them
how sorry they are for all the trouble they have gone
through.
Then they tell tem that if they sign up with them, they get all
these bonuses. This should be a major red flag. You
need to stop and think about this for a moment.
How did they get your information? It's
the same exact people that scammed you the first time, just
under a different name.
Online gambling is just like most things in life. If it
sounds to good to be true.....well, you know the rest.
You should always have your guard up at all
times.
Piracy has become another problem in online casino
gambling.
People like to copy trademarks on other legitimate
gambling websites and use them on their own scam
sites.
For instance, most legitimate websites mark that they are part
of the Interactive Gaming Council, and show that on their
website. What a lot of these scammers do is they just
copy the image of the Interactive Gaming Council and paste it
over to their website.
So,
just because you see their logos on a website, doesn't
necessarily mean that its on the up and up.
You are going to have to do a little
research.
You
could even just go to Google, type the name of the
company in the search field and I'm sure you can come up
with some kind of information on them. If somebody
has been ripped off, you will know about
it.
If
all else fails, just say no. It's
always better to be safe than sorry.
