Learning How to Play Roulette

First thing you need to know is that Roulette can be played by up to 8 players at one time.  The dealer is essentially the person "running the show".  He decides when the betting is completed, spinning the wheel, dropping the ball, declaring who wins, and finally collecting the money from the losers and distributing money from the winners.

The roulette table is marked with the different kinds of bets that a person can take, and depending on what you decide to bet on the ball has to land on the number, color, etc... in order for you to win.

The American Roulette tables use the numbers ranging for 0 to 36.

The type of bets you can make include inside and outside bets.

While the inside bets area lot more difficult to win, the payouts are a lot bigger.  These kind of bets usually pay 35:1. So, if you were to be $100, you'd get $350 in return.

You can have straight bets, in which you just simply bet on one number.

The street bet is the kind of bet where you win if you can pick a number belonging on the same line as the grid.

The corner is a bet that relies on picking a number that is adjacent to other four numbers.

Outside bets are called that because they are outside the number grid. These kind of bets are referred to as "even money" meaning you can only get in return what you betted.  So if you bet $5, you could only make $5 if you win.

For example these are the kind of bets where you could bet if the number will be even or odd.  Another example is that you can bet on what color will land.  Or you could bet if it will land between the numbers 1-18 or 19-36.

Another outside bet are the dozen bets.  You can bet on which vertical column of "12" you think the ball will land on.
